Eligible Benefits

The government is committed to alleviating fuel poverty through ECO4 and LA Flex funding schemes. The need for support is initially assessed through the benefits an individual or household claims. Under ECO4, the benefits have now changed from those that were eligible under ECO3. These benefits are:

Universal Credit (UC)

A benefit for those on a low income or out of work

Child Tax Credits (CTC)

For those on a low income and responsible for one or more child

Income Support (IS)

Extra money for those who are employed but are on a low income

Pension Credit Guarantee Credit

Is extra support for pensioners to bring their weekly income up to a minimum amount

Working Tax Credit (WTC)

Is support for low-income individuals between 16 and 24 with a child or qualifying disability; those over 25 do not need a child to qualify

Income-based Jobseekers allowance (JSA)

An unemployment benefit you can claim while you’re looking for work

Income-related Employment & Support Allowance (ESA)

Support for those that cannot work due to illness or disability

Housing Benefit (new eligible benefit under ECO4)

Is support for paying rent for those who are unemployed, on a low income or claiming benefits

Pension Credit Savings Credit (new eligible benefit under ECO4)

Is extra support for pensioners to bring their weekly income up to a minimum amount

Child Benefit (linked to Household Income)

For households with a low income and responsible for one or more child
