Cavity walls can be insulated by injecting insulating material into the cavity from the outside through drilled holes in the outer walls. If your home was built after 1930 then it’s highly likely you have cavity walls and would benefit from cavity wall insulation.
You will know if your property has a cavity wall by checking the brick pattern .
Our expert team only uses Energystore Superbead EPS Bonded Bead which provides more benefits than the standard insulating material.
With Superbead, you can be confident that you’re also making the best decision for the environment. In an independent assessment, Sustainable Homes found Superbead to have the lowest Global Warming Potential per equivalent unit of insulation of any insulation product available in the UK.
Energystore Superbead will last for the lifetime of your building and has a carbon payback of only 5 months. With Energystore Superbead EPS Bonded Bead you can expect:
Outstanding durability – rot-proof, water resistant and sufficiently stable to remain effective for the life of your building.
No settlement – the blown beads are coated with an air-drying bonding agent during installation. This means we can ensure there are no gaps at the top of the property and the insulation stays in place for the life of your building.
Consistent density and constant thermal projection – your property is properly insulated from top to bottom.
No wastage – all the beads we add help to totally fill the cavity and form a homogeneous heat-saving mass.

During the survey the assessor will use a borescope to inspect your walls to check if your cavity wall is suitable for insulation. They will carry out a through inspection of the wall type and make an assessment of suitability for insulation. The holes will be filled afterwards.
Sometimes when a house is built, the builders put some of the rubbish left over from the build into the cavity, broken bricks, mortar building debris etc. This can also happen when windows have been replaced or a new extension built. It is very important that all the rubble is removed and the cavity is clear ready for insulation. In some cases the amount of rubble is too much to be removed, especially if there are large pieces of bricks and lumps of mortar, in this case your property is not suitable.
The simple answer is to avoid damp . It is really important that the external structure of your home is well maintained; Gutters are kept clear and repaired, brickwork is pointed, cracks in render made good and roof maintained.
Absolutely! About a third of all the heat lost in a home escapes through uninsulated walls. Having cavity wall insulation installed will save you money on your energy bills and reduce your carbon footprint.
Approximately 2-3 hours. If your home requires remedial works before install, the time required would be added to this appointment, or carried out at an earlier appointment.
If your survey indicates your house has no damp course, we will install an injectable damp course. This will prevent moisture from the ground penetrating the cavity and causing damp.
After we’ve assessed your eligibility for funding, your property will have a retrofit assessment survey and a retrofit coordinator will design a plan for your home. We’re not able to give advice on energy efficiency measures for your home until that assessment has taken place.
